Privacy Policy

MilWatch Pro does not collect or track your location continuously. Coordinates leave your device only inside a map or file you explicitly choose to share. If you do not use Groups, app data stays on your device.

App data

Map state, waypoints, target and return points, drawing layers and offline map tiles are stored on your device. Android backup is disabled, so the system does not copy them to the cloud.

What Groups sends to our servers

Groups is optional. Data is sent only when you sign in and use it: your Google account identifier and display name (Firebase Authentication), your callsign and group membership, the text and voice messages you send, map data (waypoints, tracks, routes, drawings) and files such as GPX when you tap Share, and your current position while you have location sharing switched on. Map data and GPX files contain coordinates.

How location is handled

Location sharing starts only when you switch it on, and you choose how long it lasts (15 minutes, 1 hour, or until you turn it off). While it is on, your position is sent to the group every 30 seconds. This continues while the screen is off or you are using another app, so that a phone in a pocket does not quietly drop out of the group. A notification stays visible the whole time sharing is running, and tapping it stops sharing immediately. Sharing also stops by itself when the time you chose runs out. The app does not use background location permission. The server keeps only each member’s most recent position and no movement history; turning sharing off deletes that record, so you disappear from other members’ maps. If you never switch location sharing on, coordinates leave the device only inside a map or file you explicitly share.

Retention

The uploader chooses how long a shared file is kept: 24 hours, 7 days, or until removed. Expired files are deleted automatically. The uploader and group owners or admins can remove a file at any time. Deleting a group deletes its messages, members, invitations and files.

Account deletion

Open the group management screen in the app and tap "Delete account". Your account, the files you shared and your voice messages are deleted from the server; this device is signed out and its stored group data is cleared. Text you wrote stays in the conversation without your name, so that the remaining members are not left with gaps in their history. If you still own a group you must first hand it over or delete that group, so that one person’s decision never erases other members’ data. If you cannot use the app, request deletion through Contact Us on this website.

Website inquiries

Name, reply email, category and message are stored in Cloudflare D1 to answer questions and investigate reports. Information that is no longer needed may be deleted after an inquiry is resolved.

Abuse prevention

Cloudflare Turnstile helps prevent automated abuse. Raw IP addresses are not stored with inquiry content.

Third parties and security

We use Google (Firebase Authentication) and Cloudflare (Workers, D1, R2). Map tiles come from providers such as OpenStreetMap and Esri ArcGIS, or from any map source you add yourself; those providers may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address and the requested URL. Traffic to our servers uses HTTPS, but group content is not end-to-end encrypted and is readable by the service operator.
